A Small-Kitchen Knife Roll That Actually Fits a Drawer

Most knife rolls are built for chefs carrying a dozen blades to a catering gig, which makes them useless in a drawer barely ten inches deep. After measuring six different rolls, I found one canvas roll that folds down to 9.5 inches and holds four knives plus a honing rod without the flap catching on the drawer track.

The trade-off is capacity. If you own more than five knives you actually use, this isn’t for you. But for the chef’s knife, paring knife, bread knife, and boning knife most home cooks actually reach for, it keeps edges protected without eating a whole drawer.

I’ve used it daily for eight months and the stitching hasn’t budged.
